New Locksmith Marketing Site
Posted by: locksmithlocal on Sunday, May 14, 2006 - 08:21 PM
Locksmith News
Parker Media, Inc. is happy to announce a new locksmith directory site located at www.locksmith-local.com. This site is a geographically sorted directory of registered locksmiths.

In 4th quarter 2005, the use of the Internet for local search surpassed the use of the yellow pages for the first time ever (Kelsey Group). This means that advertising on the web within an locally targeted format is essential for businesses in the future.

In March 2006, over 750,000 searches were performed using the term "locksmith" (Data: Yahoo! Search). The majority of these searches were paired with city names. For example, "locksmith chicago" or "locksmith los angeles". Understanding the dynamics of search usage allows Parker Media to present the most optimized site for providing these searchers with the locksmith contact information they need.

Parker Media, Inc. has been in the web business for nearly 10 years. In that time, we have learned effective techniques for utilizing the Internet as an advertising space. In the last year, we have launced several industry specific, yet locally targeted directory sites and are seeing great success in growing relevant traffic volume. Our services also include Internet Directory Service, Pay-Per-Click campaign management and web site design.

Master Key Workbook for Microsoft Excel
Posted by: TimothyB on Sunday, November 23, 2003 - 09:38 PM
Locksmith News
Hello!

I’ve been with my present employer for over five years. All that time, we’ve had to write out master key pages by hand. I’ve asked him to buy a program to do the drudgework, but he has always balked at the idea. He can’t see the point in paying a couple of hundred dollars for a program to do what he already does for free. My boss is great to work for, but he’s a bit of a technophobe. In other words, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

Cobra by Schlage
Posted by: peter on Friday, June 13, 2003 - 11:51 PM
Locksmith News
If you use the Simplex 1000 series combination lockset you might want to check out the Cobra by Schlage. The Cobra is a battery powered combination clutch lever lock that features a 2-3 year battery life, easy installation with an adjustable door thickness from from 1 1/2" to 2", and field reversible handing. It has a nice solid feel to it and it looks great. It also comes with 2 different lever styles and five different finishes. It can also be programmed, unlike the Simplex and it is competitively priced. For more information you can visit the Schlage Website

I have enabled the theme option for members on the site. While the previous default theme was nice, it did take a while to load for those who are not on a broadband connection.
The default theme is called "extra lite" and should load a lot faster. Members will also have the option to chose from seven different themes now enabled on the site. If you discover any bugs with any theme, please let me know.

A-1 Bullseye Jig
Posted by: peter on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 - 07:27 AM
Locksmith News
I have not purchased an installation Jig since the 1970's and it was about time for me to replace my worn & aging Kwikset Jig which served me very well all these years. Unfortunately, Kwikset has completely changed their design and no longer produced the same product that worked so well for me all these years. With a little searching, I found an installation jig that works very well and that I would recommend.
